Arrangements were made for my children to be watched as I purchased tickets to this event and drove a distance to see this concert. Got a hotel, checked in at the Hampton Inn since I could not get a hotel room at the casino as I was not a VIP, and then drove from there to the casino. We walked by the showroom where we would be going so we knew where it was by 3:00, then waited around, ate, and just minutes before they were going to start letting people in with tickets, we all of a sudden saw a sign all printed up that said Punch Brothers was ill and would not be performing. As we inquired, we were told that Marie and the dancers were still doing the show. As we talked with others, we found out that the casino had known since 11:00 that morning that Punch Brothers was not going to perform and that he was not able to perform at his New York show the night before. It was really rotten that they waited until just before time for tickets to put up the sign. Instead of cancelling the concert and rescheduling it, they expected ticket holders to just pay the high buck tickets to just see Marie. I think the whole thing was terribly mishandled. Whomever decided to print up this sign at 11:00 in the a.m. and not post it until just before ticket time must have been trying to cover their butt and not lose money instead of thinking of the general public. I would never have purchased tickets to a concert of Marie and the dancers at the price I paid for these tickets. In fact, I would have not been interested in a concert with Marie and the dancers at any price. They waited to put you into a pressure cooker time on New Years Eve - no time to replan, you've already made plans for your kids, checked into the hotel - you can either still go to the concert with just Marie or go home. We chose to go home. Our refund will take a week, so they still have our money. This was totally disrespectful to all the fans, and I will never purchase another ticket to Punch Brothers or Marie or the casino.
